DAILY CONTACT LENSES

Experience the freedom

Contact Lenses

People wear daily contact lenses for a variety of reasons. They are useful for those of us who take part in sports, where it may not be convenient to wear glasses. In certain types of jobs it’s more practical to wear lenses rather than glasses. And of course, many people choose daily contact lenses for purely cosmetic reasons. Some of us may feel uncomfortable in spectacles, while others might simply feel that glasses don’t suit them.

Many options to choose from!

Whatever your motives for choosing contact lenses, the experienced team at Focus Opticians are here to help. We offer an extensive selection of lenses to suit a wide range of eye conditions. These include reusable and disposable lenses, multifocal contact lenses and contact lenses for astigmatism. Our brands include Kodak, Nikon, Acuvue and Bausch & Lomb, and other quality lenses are available on request. Following an eye examination, we can offer sensible advice on the right type of lens for you.

The benefits of lenses over glasses

One of the main benefits of contact lenses is that they allow a more natural way of seeing. Because they are shaped to fit your eye and move with it, your field of vision is increased. What’s more, they don’t fall off when you’re playing sport. And they don’t steam up when it’s cold or you’re wearing a mask.

Which contacts are right for you?:

Disposable Daily Contact Lenses

Used to correct long or short sightedness, daily disposables are perfect if you want greater flexibility. Kind to your eyes, they are the healthiest and most convenient way to wear contact lenses. If there are times when you don’t want to wear glasses, disposables offer an ideal temporary alternative. No solutions are necessary, just a new clean lens every day.

Reusable Contact Lenses

Reusables are a popular type of daily contact lenses, prescribed to correct long or short sightedness. Most reusable contact lenses are taken out at the end of the day; though lenses you can sleep in are available. Once removed, you clean the lenses and store them in a contact lens case until the next time. Reusables generally last two to four weeks, after which they should be replaced with new ones.

Astigmatic Contact Lenses

Found in both children and adults, astigmatism is a common condition. The shape of your eye affects your sight. So, if your vision is blurred or distorted, you may suffer from astigmatism. Contact lenses for astigmatism are moulded to fit the eye perfectly, so that the problem is corrected. Both reusable and disposable types are available.

Multifocal Contact Lenses

The lenses in our eyes become less flexible as we get older. This makes it more difficult to adjust our focus between near and far objects, which can impair our vision when reading or looking at a screen. The name for this condition is presbyopia, and it affects most of us sooner or later. Designed to correct presbyopia, multifocal contact lenses are ; will allow you to see objects clearly both near and far.
